Bridal Consultation Prep

Just a few important things to think about to help us create a look that you will LOVE for your special day

See the full guide

Trials are really important, they are done to make sure you and your artist are on the same page and have created a look together.

That way come your wedding day, you are relaxed and already know what to expect !

We typically recommend coming in for a trial 1-2 months before the wedding that way the look is fresh in our minds.

We also recommend saving a few inspiration pictures to bring to show your artist of what you are looking for.

We recommend you coming with a white top and hair either straightened or curled.

In terms of skincare before your makeup application appointment, please exfoliate twice a week and tone/moisturize daily before your appointment.

Before your Appointment

  • Be sure to arrive to your appointment with your hair clean , dry and smooth. Do this at least one day in advance.
  • Special instructions will be made communicated to you (where applicable) before your bridal trials.

Before your Event

  • Please wash and blow-dry your hair at least 1 day before the event.  This will ensure there is absolutely no moisture in the hair allowing for the longest lasting styles (and no frizz, yay!)
*Please be conscious of using any heat (other than a blow dryer) on your hair before the event. Trying to curl hair that has been flat ironed is difficult and causes curls to loosen quite quickly.

Pre Treatment

  • Exfoliate
Using a sulfate-free scrub or exfoliating gloves, exfoliate your entire body 24 hours prior to your tan. It is not recommended to exfoliate the day of your tan, as your skin needs to rebuild its natural oils to achieve the best results.
  • Moisturize
Be sure to shower off your lotion prior to your tan.
  • Beauty Prep
All hair removal, including waxing, shaving & threading should be done 24 hours prior to your appointment. Shaving (gently) is okay 24 hours post-tan. Have mani's, pedi's, hair appointments and lash appointments scheduled before your tan.
  • Day-Of Prep
You will want to have no makeup, lotion or deodorant on your skin prior to the tan. Products on the skin can create a barrier to the tan, giving an uneven result. Wear dark loose fitting clothing and have your hair tied up and away from your face.

Maintaining Your Tan

  • Do not shower or sweat for at least 8 hours following your appointment.
  • Rinse 8 hours after your appointment
  • Moisturize using a paraben-free lotion daily. Keeping moisturized will ensure an even, flawless fade. You can purchase one from our beauty lounge!
  • Do not use any soaps with ‘SLS’ in it.
  • Avoid long hot baths and showers as these speed up exfoliation.
  • Pat your skin dry after a bath or shower. Rubbing your skin may rub off your tan.
  • Avoid swimming pools and salt water, as these can reduce your tan.

Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 to 48 hours.

This means :

  • No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only)
  • No saunas, hot tubs, massage or steam treatments
  • No tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans)
  • No sport, gym work or other exercise
  • Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands
  • Wear clean, loose fitting clothes
  • Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools
  • Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area
  • Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area
  • To soothe and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment. Always wash your hands before applying any product.
  • To soothe and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment. Always wash your hands before applying any product.

Moisturize every day to keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally. Don’t exfoliate too much or too rough as this can graze the skin and cause ingrown hairs.

You may notice a small amount of re growth after a week or so.
It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results.

You will need at least 3-4 weeks growth of hair before it can be successfully removed by waxing.

Please do not shave between your appointments.

To maintain your smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every 4 - 6 weeks.

* Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24 - 48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Before your appointment

  • Don’t apply any hand cream or other products one day before your appointment.
  • If you have old gel/acrylic on your nails, it is not ideal for you to remove it yourself. Removing old nails and getting new ones in one appointment is the safest way to go.

Things to consider

  • Please note that some hormonal medications can affect the final result. If you've changed your medication recently, please reschedule your appointment to at least 2 weeks after the change.
  • If you are experiencing any discomfort/pain or yellow/green nail discolouration please visit a dermatologist. If you still come in for your appointment, we won’t be able to do your nails for health and safety reasons.

We do! Checkout Nail extensions and combi manicure section above!

For the most part, we use pure gel by Luxio. Sometimes if needed, we may use an acrylic powder as a base layer to strengthen thin nails.

How do you disinfect your manicure tools and maintain a sanitary environment?

  • Every client gets a sanitized and disinfected set of manicure instruments at every appointment. This is the first step  to protect our clients.
  • Instruments are soaked in a medical-grade sterilant and disinfectant. This kills organic matter including bacteria, fungus and viruses.
  • Then instruments are brushed down with a brass brush to remove any remaining dirt and placed in a ultrasonic cleaner to remove any particulates.
  • Finally, and most importantly, instruments are placed in a sterile bag and go to into 250F sterilizer in which bacteria, viruses, funguses, spores and etc cannot survive
  • There are also some manicure instruments that can’t be reused and go through sterilization process such as buffer blocks, nail files, orange sticks, table cloths, gloves and masks are replaced after every client.
  • All surfaces are cleaned with a medical grade disinfectant as to prepare for a new client. Even the air in the room will be sprayed with an air sanitizer.

Usually gel nails last around 2 weeks. Some last longer and some shorter. It depends on your lifestyle and how quickly your nails grow. Plus, there some factors can affect durability of gel like hormonal changes and medical conditions.

Is gel safe for your nails? Will gel let my nails breathe?

Nails are made of keratin. Keratin is a type of protein that forms the cells that make up the tissue in nails.  Nails start growing under your skin. As new feels grow, they push old ones through your skin.

The part that you can see, the one that a nail professional work with consists of dead cells. This is why It doesn’t hurt when you cut your nails every time.

This dead cell layer acts as protection for your skin. A common misconception is that nails can "breathe" The fact is, they don't and have no need to.

Gel or any other product like acrylic powder or polygel is 100% safe for your nails.
